  Really wishing I took a picture, but we didn’t think fast enough. We just ordered 4 hoagies from Eagle Valley Bargains in Mill Hall. When Cody sat down to eat his, he unwrapped it and a small black spider crawled out. He killed it and I called over to Eagle Valley Bargains. The lady who made the hoagie was the one who answered. I explained what happened and she was “truly sorry and doesn’t know how this happened, that she would be more than willing to make a new one for him” and would make it immediately or he could pick another one up on Monday. I said, “Could you please just remake it as he needs to eat before work.” She again apologized and I said “It’s seriously fine, mistakes happen!” I thought everything was all and good. We drove over to the place and saw it on the counter. The lady who made it said to hold on a second because her boss wanted to speak with us. We said that was fine. (Even though Cody at this point really needed to leave for work.) We figured she was going to apologize, maybe give us a coupon, or something along those lines. Unfortunately, this is not what occurred. She came out extremely defensive saying that “she has an exterminator come and that they do not have any bugs in the facility, that the spider had to have come from us. And that she would give us this hoagie even though they shouldn’t.” I said, “So you’re seriously accusing us of putting a spider in our hoagie to get a free one? They’re $4. I wouldn’t have came back here if I was mad. We’re not mad, we just wanted a new one made so he could eat before work. I don’t know why you’re being rude to us, we weren’t rude at all and you’re the one who had a spider in our hoagie that we paid you for.” She continued to be defensive and rude, so we just walked out. I will NOT be back to give them a penny of my business, which is quite sad because we actually give them a bit of business and I like to shop at small, hometown stores when I can, why get hoagies at Sheetz for double the price? I always have liked Eagle Valley Bargains, even when they were “Bargain Mart.” All of the workers I have encountered including the one who made our hoagies are very nice, but the owner is RUDE RUDE RUDE. I have never felt so belittled, accused of being a liar, and as horrible as I did when I left there. That is NOT any way to treat your paying, loyal customers!! Most people would have threw the hoagie away and never gone back. I was trying to give them the benefit of the doubt, but that backfired. So I am not sending this as a PSA to not eat there due to their spider mishap, but to not give them your business due to their owner who is a RIDICULOUS human being and the rudest owner I have ever met at any store, especially one who I used to give plenty of my business to. Never again folks and I urge you to stay far away from that place! Please share with your friends and family.
